Vintage Patterns

Since I was old enough to hold a needle, I have kept my hands busy with one needle craft or another. Sewing, knitting, crochet, cross stitch, needlepoint: all have had their moments in the sun of my studio, so to speak. My mother was the same. We collected patterns and materials. From the 1940s to the present, our combined collections represent the trends and fancies that interested us.

Vintage Ponchos

Vintage Ponchos

From my mother’s stash of knitting and crochet patterns comes a vintage poncho from 1972. Judging by the pencil marks, Mummy made the poncho. Thankfully, I don’t remember it being for me. Includes directions for pom-pom topped ski caps, a cable-knit cardigan and roll-neck pullovers. Make it up in burnt orange or avocado green. Yeah, baby.

Came from a non-smoking but pet-filled home. Price includes shipping by parcel rates to the US.

Woolies For Babies

woolies

All babies need a heavy woolen onesie, don’t they? Make buntings and more, just like they did in the 1940s, when babies were bundled up, but good. Comes from a non-smoking, but pet-filled home.
